Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – OAU Aggregate & Cut-Off Marks
How is OAU aggregate score calculated?
OAU uses a 100% scale: JAMB (50%), Post-UTME (40%), and O’Level results (10%).
Your JAMB score is divided by 8, your Post-UTME score is used as it is (over 40),
and O’Level is calculated by assigning points to your 5 core subjects:
A1 = 2.0, B2 = 1.8, B3 = 1.6, C4 = 1.4, C5 = 1.2, C6 = 1.0.
What is the UTME cut-off mark for OAU?
The general UTME cut-off mark for OAU is 200.
You must score 200 and above to be eligible for Post-UTME screening.
What is the minimum score to be eligible for admission?
You must have at least 25/50 from Post-UTME + O’Level combined
before your JAMB score can be considered. Our calculator shows if you are eligible.
Do departmental cut-off marks change every year?
Yes, departmental cut-offs may change depending on the number of applicants and overall performance. However, they usually stay close to the previous year’s cut-off.
What is the cut-off mark for Medicine, Law, Nursing, and Pharmacy?
Medicine: around 85 – 87
Nursing: around 78 – 80
Law: around 74 – 78
Pharmacy: around 74 – 75
(Exact numbers will be updated here as soon as OAU releases the official 2025 cut-off.)
Can I still get admitted if I score below my departmental cut-off mark?

for a less competitive course through OAU’s supplementary admission list.
